Known for a sometimes wicked sense of humor, one of her favorite wall hangings, titled "Where's Harry", is of a school of snapper.

"When I used to fish for dinner from my dock, I could catch four or five snapper before they'd catch on and quit biting," she said. "I figured they were saying, 'What happened to Harry?'"

Laurie's fish plaques range in size from about 5"x7" to 22"x22". Each is ready to hang on your wall. They range in price from $45 to $450.

For information on the availability of a featured piece, or to purchase any of our products, please make note of the item number and visit our contact page.

Laurie welcomes commissions, but prospective clients should be warned that there is no guarantee because each piece is individual. There also are always variables during firing. Each item is kiln-fired at least twice. Even a tried and true glaze can't be guaranteed to produce the same results time after time.

A 25 percent nonrefundable down payment will be required for commissioned fish plaques. As the process is time intensive, expect delivery not sooner than six weeks from receipt of order and down payment.

Laurie also occasionally makes fish trivets, casseroles and platters, which are oven and dishwasher safe. If you'd like to special order a handmade kitchen item, please contact Laurie. Colors and size, to your specifications, will nonetheless be approximate as no piece is exactly alike nor can a piece be exactly duplicated.

Grouper looking for dinner!

Snook, one of the greatest, little-known sport fish!  Item #37

TUNA! 6 1/2"x7 3/4". Ready to place in a display stand or use as a trivet. Upon request, can be prepared as a wall hanging.

Doublefish! The top photo was taken as a wispy cloud passed over the sun. The lower photo was taken seconds later. Doublefish, or Fish Within a Fish, measures about 21"x7". It was destroyed by a hurricane, but the many pieces were resurrected and it now resides in a kitchen backsplash!

Where's Harry? is inspired by the fishing off my dock. I can usually catch four or five snapper before they quit biting. My guess is that they notice their numbers dwindling! This sizable wall-hanging measures 14" high by about 12 1/2" at its widest. Hand carved and painted in multiple hues of green and blue, each of these snapper have dozens of little red dots.

Dinner Time: A gift for Habitat for Humanity's annual Art Auction.
