Laurie's plaques and wall hangings of female nudes range in size from 5"x7" to 22"x22". Every piece is one-of-a-kind, though she often repeats the basic forms.       

Some are titled, some are not. All are signed.      

"I only give a piece a title if it's obvious to me," she said. "If I have to struggle to come up with one, it wasn't meant to be titled."      

While most of Laurie's subjects are real people, as mood dictates, she sometimes moves into "Picasso" mode, doing more abstract figures.      

Each piece is ready to hang on a wall or place in a display stand. Groupings of three small nudes in a bedroom or bathroom are very effective. The larger pieces fit well into many decorating schemes.

Commissions from tasteful personal photos will be considered, but prospective clients should be warned that, while this is a likeness from a photo, it remains art and cannot be guaranteed. In addition, each piece is individual and subject to the vagaries inherent in handmade products. A 50 percent nonrefundable downpayment will be required for commissioned nudes. As the process is time intensive, expect delivery not sooner than four to six weeks from receipt of photograph and downpayment.

Sunset's Coming on the Bay: Hand carved red earthenware clay, which provides the sunset glow seen through the glaze. Hand-painted and fired twice. Size: 4 3/4"x7 1/2".

My Life with Picasso: Freeform, handrolled plaque of red earthenware clay. Carved and painted with multiple glazes in shades of blue, she is ready to hang on a wall or display in a stand. Size: 7 1/2"x7 1/2".

Sleeping Beauty: Measuring 8 1/4"x6", this piece is crafted from red earthenware clay, etched and painted by hand, and twice fired using a combination of glazes to achieve the unique background.    

Torso: Crystals were added to the lavender background glaze of this somewhat modest nude to provide a "fireworks" effect. The plate is deeply etched, providing an almost three-dimensional appearance. The glaze used on the body of the model is a crackle, giving it an antique look. The piece is made of white earthenware. 

Shy Debbie: Photos do not do justice to this lovely pale-skinned young woman hiding behind her blanket. Background in a blue-white, raven hair and a textured khaki-green blanket to round out the image. 9"x5 1/2".

This reproduction of the Modigliani masterpiece measures about 5"x7 1/2". The background is a smoky bronze. Item  #25
